UCI Asian Pacific Student Association RISE Program

Retention through Impact, Solidarity, and Empowerment

2015-2016 RISE Program at Los Amigos High School

The 2015-2016 mission is to promote diversity throughout the community, and by doing so, creating an establishment of equality in a multicultural society. Instilled with APSA’s core beliefs of cultural sensitivity and awareness through education, RISE provides academic support, college preparation, and resources to cultivate professionalism and leadership/personal development skills to better ensure successful development of students. Through student mentorship, we aim to maintain the education pipeline and strengthen retention at the high school level. RISE hopes to provide a multitude of resources to students to increase the number of underserved high school students going to college. By offering interactions with college students of Asian American, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, [email protected] and [email protected] backgrounds, RISE hopes to empower high school students through shared experiences and knowledge.
